Typing Over Text in Microsoft Word

One day, all of a sudden, your text isn't inserting anymore, but typing over top of your previous text. There's a few things you can do, but they all accomplish the same task.

• Hit your Insert key once. My wireless keyboard doesn't have one, so this won't work for me, but you might have one.
• The OVR may be turned on in Word's status bar at the bottom of your screen, as shown. Just double-click it to turn it off.

• If you're unable to resolve it with either of the above two methods, go to ToolsOptions, Edit tab, and uncheck Overtype mode.
