Easiest Table of Contents (TOC) in Microsoft Word
The easiest method of creating an automatically generated table of contents
(TOC) uses styles in your document.
By default the TOC is based on Heading 1, Heading 2, and Heading 3 styles. If
you used other styles in your document, you can Modify the TOC to refer to those
